Book Review : The hunger games

From Goodreads.com

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister Primrose, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before — and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that will weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

My personal opinion:

Okay Im just gonna say it - I LOVE this book.
I was told before I started reading this book that it had similarities to Twilight so I was a bit meh about starting reading it cause yes I thought the twilight books were good, they were just not as well written as The hunger games (and yes I know its two different authors)
I've been reading this book at every chance I got, so when I got of work I would sit in the bus reading it on my way to the gym (I have a 30. min bus drive), and I even read it on my breaks at work.
If you guys are looking forward to the movie (yes Im gonna watch it) I recommend this book.
Tbh I've never heard about the book before all this hype started and thats when I decided I wanted to read the book, cause I often think that a book is better than the movie they make of it.

Im finishing off with the trailer for the movie so if you guys haven't seen it yet, you know a tad bit about why the book is good

Have you guys read the book?

Xoxo Mie
